Can the dentist put you to sleep and fix your teeth problems?

I have an appointment coming up because of a broke, swollen tooth and I am wondering is it possible to ask my dentist to put me to sleep? i have heard several people mntion it, but I am not completely sure what the age limit is. I am 15. Thank you

Your normal dentist may not do it, but there are certainly dentists that specialize in patients who are asleep during any procedure. You would probably need parental consent and you may want to call ahead to the dentist to request it because it will take extra time for your appointment then if you were awake because they have to wait for you to fall asleep, then to wake up, etc
You might be able to find a dentist that will put you to sleep, but it comes with risk and also very expensive. I was going to have this done until I found out it was going to cost over $700 out of pocket. The dentist would not do the procedure because I have a heart murmur. Try laughing gas, it's very safe for children and adults. You are still awake, but not real aware of what's going on. It just feels like your floating in air. My 6yr. old daughter did just fine after having laughing gas during her tooth extraction. Hope this helped and GOOD LUCK!
Some dentists choose to use a twilight sleep induction, depending on the work that needs to be done, and the pain tolerance level of the patient. Not all dentists are qualified to do this though. You may have to ask if your dentist does this type of procedure
